Arthur by Mikael Lindnord

(A true story)

Hello everybody and welcome back to another book review,

Today, I will be reviewing Arthur by Mikael Lindnord. Mikael is a Swedish adventure racer, who had his heart set on leading the Swedish adventure team through the Ecuadorian jungle. When he was younger, he wanted to do ice-hockey but found out later that he didn't quite have the talent.  Later, he found a love for adventure racing so he decided to continue his passion. Leading the adventure team through the jungle was supposed to be the main focus but after stopping by at a TA for food, Mikael gave a meatball to a stray dog. The dog continued to follow the team. This dog was Arthur and, so their story begun. I fully enjoyed this book as I got emersed into the cute things Arthur did like continuing to follow the team through rivers even though he was tired and not at all a great swimmer. I also enjoyed Mikael transition to becoming someone who doesn't really care about dogs at the start of the trip to someone who has a new-found appreciation at the end. Arthur's past May have been brutal. Whilst hiking in the Swedish hills, Arthur barks loudly at someone walking with a stick. Mikael suggested that this could be because he was perhaps beaten by his owner in the past. The story is not only lovable but realistic in the sense that South American laws on animal rights are still not at the level that they should be at. This allows the reader to see a big culture change. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I hope its one that is found on every person's bookshelf.

I would give this ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
