Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, My favourite childhood author was Jacqueline Wilson. Like many girls at the time, my first Jacqueline Wilson book was Best Friends. My sister read and all my friends read it. It was really sad but such a good read. I read a bit of Starring Tracy Beaker after watching The Story of Tracy Beaker and Tracy Beaker Returns on TV. I loved Tracy's bold character and I think many other people my age liked her too. Around year 5 and year 6, I really enjoyed reading Jacqueline Wilson books whilst all of my other friends began to read the Harry Potter books. I was a big fan. Which was why I got the privilege  to see her at my friends school. I also received a signed copy of her newest book at the time, Katy. That story was also sad but very heart warming at the same time. Hello everybody and welcome back to my blog, I really enjoyed reading Felix the station cat by Kate Moore. I found that it was a lot better then I expected. I originally thought, judging by the blurb, that it was going to be all about the cat. However, I was wrong. The book was a fantastic representation as to why small communities matter. I loved reading about Billy's garden and how he put so much effort into making the station not just a station, but a place thriving with new innovative ideas. I also liked the main story about Gareth Hope who thought of the idea of getting a station cat in the first place because he really wanted something that would Bring the Huddersfield community together. The fact that this was a true story just made me realise that all of this was possible to do. I also really enjoyed the diva moments from Felix too of course. Hello everybody and welcome back to another book review, Being a dancer myself, I knew I would love this book anyway. But I didn't realise just how much I would enjoy this book. Gillian Pyrke,  1st February 1926- 1st July 2018, was a ballerina from Bromely, Kent, UK. She spent some time in her early childhood attending dance lessons with Madeleine Sharp and practising ballet every evening with her mother. Many people believe that the most horrific event that occured in her life was the War but, I believe that after her mothers death Gillian had to endure that whilst a war was breaking out, which to me seemed pretty horrific.  I thought that she would have years contemplating her mother's death but no, instead, after some grieving, she got up and succeeded her and her mother's wishes in becoming a ballerina. (A true story) Hello everybody and welcome back to another book review, Today, I will be reviewing Arthur by Mikael Lindnord. Mikael is a Swedish adventure racer, who had his heart set on leading the Swedish adventure team through the Ecuadorian jungle. When he was younger, he wanted to do ice-hockey but found out later that he didn't quite have the talent.  Later, he found a love for adventure racing so he decided to continue his passion. Leading the adventure team through the jungle was supposed to be the main focus but after stopping by at a TA for food, Mikael gave a meatball to a stray dog. The dog continued to follow the team. This dog was Arthur and, so their story begun. I fully enjoyed this book as I got emersed into the cute things Arthur did like continuing to follow the team through rivers even though he was tired and not at all a great swimmer. Hello everybody and welcome back to another book review, Today, I will be reviewing Sophie McKenzie's book 'Girl missing.' This story is about a girl who has to write an essay one day about herself. This triggers her to question why she is with her adoptive parents and why they won't tell her about her past. She goes on a journey with her friend Jam and their relationship becomes more serious throughout the story. Some things were a bit unrealistic like when Lauren, a 14 year old travels to America with Jam, a 15 year old but I suppose it wasn't supposed to be realistic. McKenzie was really good at building up tension about kidnapping and bullying. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I give this book a 4/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Did you read this book? Hello everybody and welcome back to another book review,  It took me ages to finish Anne Frank's diary but I am finally here to tell you guys what I thought of it. To be honest, I really enjoyed it. It's definitely not the same as reading a book since a book has a climax and a purpose. Anne's diary was just an account of her life. I loved the simplicity that came from that. I loved learning new things about the war which I didn't know before. Plus I got an insight into what life was like in hiding and not just in the concentration camp. Things were obviously very tough for her. I felt sympathy when she was going through depression. But I also liked the fact that she stayed optimistic about things. Hi guys, Welcome back to another book review, As you may already know (because I've been babbling on about it) I've been reading Cannery Row by John Steinbeck. Now, I have read one of Steinbeck's books in the past which was 'Of Mice And Men'. I feel like now, I understand his style of writing a lot more. For example, in Of Mice And Men, Steinbeck talks a lot about the scenery in the beginning. At that point, you want to give up. However, you soon realise the read in why he is talking a lot about the scenery and that is because the scenery has a lot of relevance to the story. Now, when I read Cannery Row, Steinbeck talked a lot about the characters. It made me realise that the character's have a lot of importance to the story. I really enjoyed learning about all the different characters like Mack,Eddie,Doc and Dora. They all tie in with the story very well. However, most of us know that Anne unfortunately didn't live to tell the tale of life in a concentration camp. So this is where Helga comes into play.
