What is my favourite book genre and why? Ranting Tuesdays

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,

 Before, I absolutely used to be a fan of fictional books. I really enjoyed the Jacqueline Wilson books as a child, especially Starring Tracy Beaker. I also really enjoyed The Famous Five by Enid Blyton growing up. I really enjoyed the suspense especially the one about where they are trapped in a room with smugglers. For a long time, fiction has always seemed to be my favourite book genre. However, when I started reading things like Anne Frank's diary or Helga's diary, both excellent true accounts from the Second World War, I got drawn to the world of non-fiction. I especially enjoyed reading about Arthur by Mikael Lindnord. I liked reading about how the helpless dog followed Mikael's Swedish adventure racing team all across the jungle to find a home. I also liked reading about Felix the railway cat and how he became a signified member of the station. I am currently reading James Herriot's book All Things Bright and Beautiful, the second to his list of memoirs on being a Yorkshire country vet. As well as this, I am currently reading about the famous bionic Supervet, Noel Fitzpatrick and his journey to fitting people's furry friends with highly crafted false limbs. Although I like the climax and the downturn of fiction, I love learning about how real people, despite the odds, achieved what they achieved. I think I've grown to appreciate the beauty of non-fiction more than what I had before.

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Michelle made it to her favourite high school, Whitney Young; after excelling in her academic education, she decided to try and make it to Princeton. She went to her first appointment with the school counsellor to have a talk about college life, as she was in her senior year. She recalls nothing much of the experience as all that she can remember the woman saying to her is that "you're was not Princeton material." It damaged Michelle's self-esteem quite a bit but she bounced back from the experience; she was determined to prove her wrong. Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  It's been a while since I posted on this second blog. With my GCSEs, I've been struggling to find the time to sit down and read a chapter of a book. Every time I come home from school, there's always something I need to do and when I go to bed, I feel way too tired to read. However the other day, I did find the time to read a bit more of Becoming Michelle Obama and she has genuinely taught me a lesson that I think is very important to share. As a young girl, Michelle was very studious and conscientious. Being from a black family, in a poorer area of Chicago, she often felt she had to prove people wrong and become successful. Everyday, when she went to high-school, she would pass a tall building where people in suits would walk in and out and she endeavoured to work hard to be at the top floor of that very same building. First impressions of Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, I've been slowly ploughing my way through my other books, that I thought it would be a good time to start a new one. This book I got for my 15th birthday and its the Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell. I've never read his other classics like Animal Farm. I was told that Orwell's writing style was always a bit complicated to understand but reading Homage to Catalonia so far has not been too bad. I had to look up some of the historical context behind this book before reading it since I don't know so much about the Spanish Civil War. All I knew was that the book was based on Orwell's personal experiences as a militiaman (a member of a militia which is an army formed from the civil population in this particular emergency) fighting for the Republican army during this war.
