Readalong- How I'm getting on with reading Professor Noel Fitzpatrick's book Becoming The Supervet

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,

 As some of you may know, I've been reading Professor Noel Fitzpatrick's book called becoming The Supervet. I received this book as a Christmas present from my parents, and since I've been pining for it for ages, I was so happy when I finally got it. A couple weeks after Christmas, I decided to start reading it and since then, I've been really enjoying it. I'm currently on page 31 and chapter 3- The Robin and the Chestnut Tree. Up to this point, I have found out so many interesting facts about him that I didn't know before. I found out that his family were strictly religious, I'm guessing Catholic which makes sense since so many people in Northern Ireland then and now were and are Catholic. I also found out that his father was an excellent businessman, especially in the field of buying and selling land for his livestock that him and his Noel spent precious hours looking after. Due to this, Noel bought a large section of land which would become the premises for his business, Fitzpatrick Referrals and for the amazing documentary, The Supervet. Sadly, I also found out that his father died of a brain haemorrhage and couldn't see his son succeed in his dream. But he did see the very beginning of Noel's business and was happy by what he had achieved in the moment.

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, Michelle made it to her favourite high school, Whitney Young; after excelling in her academic education, she decided to try and make it to Princeton. She went to her first appointment with the school counsellor to have a talk about college life, as she was in her senior year. She recalls nothing much of the experience as all that she can remember the woman saying to her is that "you're was not Princeton material." Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post,  It's been a while since I posted on this second blog. With my GCSEs, I've been struggling to find the time to sit down and read a chapter of a book. Every time I come home from school, there's always something I need to do and when I go to bed, I feel way too tired to read. However the other day, I did find the time to read a bit more of Becoming Michelle Obama and she has genuinely taught me a lesson that I think is very important to share. As a young girl, Michelle was very studious and conscientious. Being from a black family, in a poorer area of Chicago, she often felt she had to prove people wrong and become successful. First impressions of Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell

Hello everybody and welcome back to another blog post, I've been slowly ploughing my way through my other books, that I thought it would be a good time to start a new one. This book I got for my 15th birthday and its the Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell. I've never read his other classics like Animal Farm. I was told that Orwell's writing style was always a bit complicated to understand but reading Homage to Catalonia so far has not been too bad. I had to look up some of the historical context behind this book before reading it since I don't know so much about the Spanish Civil War. All I knew was that the book was based on Orwell's personal experiences as a militiaman (a member of a militia which is an army formed from the civil population in this particular emergency) fighting for the Republican army during this war.
